Newsletter ~ November 8, 2000

Meeting opened by President Craig Mason at 7:00 p.m.

Motion to start meetings at 6:30 instead of 7:00 p.m. Approved.

Everyone present introduced themselves and stated what kind of lathe they had.

The Project Committee announced that for the January Challenge, the project will be a bowl that will fit into a 4'' cube. That is 4 inches high, or less, and 4 inches wide, or less.

Uwe Dost talked about pricing pieces by size, by type of wood, and what you think you are worth. Also discussed consignment as a good way to start and find out what the market will bear.

Winners of the project challenge (Christmas Ornaments) are:
          Honorable Mention Craig Mason
          1st Place Tom Young
          2nd Place Herb Kaneko
          3rd Place Larry Rodrigues

Treasurer reports $180 in the treasury.

Bob Ueki did a very good demonstration on making perfume holders. A very quick way to make small gifts inexpensively.

Meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.

Submitted by the Keeper of the Scrolls (Jim Orrick)
