Demonstrations ~ Instant Gallery ~ Live Auction
Pastries ~ Coffee ~ Juice ~ Soda ~ Tool Sale
Lunch ~ Dinner ~ Hands-On Sessions

~ Instant Gallery Guidelines ~

There will be an opportunity for attendees and demonstrators to show their work in an instant gallery. You may bring up to 3 pieces for the instant gallery. We are hoping that the collective body of work will show the diversity of interests held by our club members.

Sign in will include name, description, and sales information (if applicable).

Sale will be directly between buyer and seller. The club will not collect nor distribute funds.

Club will not monitor display and will not control pickup at end of program.

Please leave items on display until end of your attendance.

~ Instant Gallery Review ~

A panel of participants will be asked to pick their favorite piece from this collection and will explain that choice. This is not intended to be a general discussion of all pieces. If your work is not selected and you want a critique, we will try to include an opportunity for a private review.

~ Auction Guidelines ~

All attendees, including demonstrators, may submit one piece for the auction. All pieces entered into the auction are a donation to the club.

In addition, pieces from previous and current demos may be included. The pieces will remain on display throughout the day Saturday and during the dinner and program portion of the symposium.

All items from the display will be moved into the live auction.

There is a chance that an item will not reach the value desired by the turner. However, once in the auction, no item may be withdrawn. We will sell the pieces at the best price we can obtain at the auction.

All proceeds from the auction will be used to offset expenses of the symposium. Any proceeds left, after expenses, will be used to offset the cost of future club events.

~ Used Tool Sale ~

This year we will again have a used tool sale. This is a great opportunity to get rid of those old tools sitting around that just collect dust.

The rules are simple: Just bring in what you want to sell. Write your name and the price on a piece of painter's blue masking tape and attach it to the tool.

Say one last goodbye to those things and leave them with the used tool sales team, headed by Joan Graham. There are no commissions so you get to keep all the money (unless you spend it buying other used tools)!

Disclaimer: in the event something doesn't sell, you are requested to take it back.

~ Hands-On Sessions in Rotation 8 ~

CA Finishing ~ A Finish for Pens and Pen Assembly by Allan Spitzer.

Allan will be supplying ready to finish koa pen blanks and Slim Line pen kits to assemble after applying the CA finish.

This rotation will be limited to 10 participants. Each will be able to take home a finished pen.

They will also get a set of 7 mm finishing bushings made from 7 mm brass tubing to use when putting on a CA finish. these keep their pen turning bushings from getting covered with CA glue.

A sign-up sheet, on a first come, first served basis, will be available at the symposium.

Thread Chasing ~ Maui turner Emiliano Achaval will do a hands-on follow-up to his Rotation 2 demonstration on thread chasing.
